Abidjan is home to the African Development Bank and many regional offices, along with banks, telecom companies and the cocoa trade's exporters and processors. We print anodized aluminium asset tags (étiquettes d'inventaire) for them in Nairobi, with French wording, and fly them to Abidjan.
Most Ivorian buyers need tags that match a SYSCOHADA fixed asset register, so we print codes in exactly the format their accounting system uses.
SYSCOHADA and the physical inventory
Côte d'Ivoire uses the OHADA accounting framework, SYSCOHADA, which requires fixed assets (immobilisations) to be recorded and checked against a physical inventory. Auditors (commissaires aux comptes) test that the register matches what exists. A durable tag with a code matching each register line makes the inventory physique fast and repeatable. Public bodies are also reviewed by the Cour des comptes.
Recommended asset tags for Côte d'Ivoire
| Asset | Recommended tag | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Office and IT equipment at regional headquarters | Anodized aluminium, acetone-activated | Neat, permanent and hard to remove |
| Cocoa processing and port equipment | laser marking or riveted aluminium | Survives humidity, washing and handling |
| Bank branch assets | self-adhesive tags | Quick to apply across many branches |
| Vehicles and portable equipment | tamper-proof tags | Shows if the tag has been removed |

Humid coast, rainy south
Abidjan and the south are hot and humid with two rainy seasons, and San-Pédro's port adds salt air. Paper labels go soft and peel in these conditions. Anodized aluminium does not absorb moisture or corrode. In the drier north, the Harmattan brings dust from December to February. More on why anodized aluminium lasts.

French wording
Ivorian tags are printed in French, typically "Propriété de" with the company name and a label such as "N° d'immobilisation" above the code. Accented characters are reproduced exactly as supplied, and you approve everything on a free digital proof.
