VexCloud is a cloud platform from Vexar Solutions in Nairobi. Its first app, VexCloud AMS (Asset Management System), is fixed asset management software: one register for your assets, barcode and QR tags, physical verification that reconciles as you scan, depreciation, and an Android app that keeps working when there is no signal.
Vexar Solutions has made aluminium asset tags and tagged fixed assets for organisations across Kenya and Africa since 2016. The platform
What VexCloud is
VexCloud is the name of the platform. VexCloud AMS is the first app on it. Organisations use VexCloud AMS to keep a complete fixed asset register, tag assets with numbered barcode or QR tags, count them with a phone or a handheld scanner, and see at once what is matched, missing, in the wrong place or not on the register at all.
It runs in the VexCloud cloud, on your own server or on-premises, and one login can look after several companies kept apart from each other. There is a web app for the office and an Android app for the people walking the floors, stores and field sites. Assets move through seven lifecycle stages in the register: on order, in stock, in service, in transit, under maintenance, retired and disposed.

Vexar and VexCloud
From the tag to the register: how Vexar and VexCloud work together
An asset tag is only useful if the number on it leads to a record. Vexar makes the tag and tags the asset (see our fixed asset tagging services in Kenya). VexCloud AMS holds the record behind that number. The tag number you see on an asset is the same number in the register, so a scan on a phone shows the asset, who has it, where it should be and when it was last verified.
Organisations that already have a register in Excel do not start again. We import it, tag what is untagged, and run the first verification count in VexCloud AMS. The Android app: scan, count and register with no signal
The VexCloud AMS Android app is built for places with no signal: stores, basements, remote offices and field sites. It keeps a copy of the data you need on the phone, scans barcode and QR tags with the camera, lets you register an asset with photos, and counts an audit. Changes wait on the device and send safely when it reconnects.
Data on the device is encrypted, and admins can wipe the app's data from a lost phone remotely. Online and offline mode is included on every package. Read more about the VexCloud Android app.

Deployment
Cloud, private server or your own premises
Run VexCloud AMS in the VexCloud cloud, where we host, update, back up and monitor it. Or run it on one private server of your own, or on-premises inside your network, with the Android app installed as a signed file for closed networks.

Security
Security and data separation
Each company's data is kept separate, and that separation is enforced in the database, not only on the screen. Access follows roles and permissions that you set per company. Every change is written to an append-only audit log, passwords are hashed with Argon2id and checked against known breaches, and sign-in supports an authenticator app.

Why Vexar built VexCloud
After years of tagging assets for county governments, NGOs, banks, schools and hospitals, the same problem kept appearing: the tags went on, and a year later the register no longer matched the building. A tag is a promise that a record exists and is current. VexCloud is how we keep that promise after we leave.

What is VexCloud?
VexCloud is a cloud platform from Vexar Solutions in Nairobi. Its first app, VexCloud AMS (Asset Management System), is fixed asset management software with a register, barcode and QR tagging, physical verification, depreciation and an offline Android app.

What does VexCloud AMS do?

Does it work without internet?
Yes. The Android app keeps the data it needs on the phone, scans and counts offline, and syncs when it reconnects. Offline mode is included on every package.
Can I use my existing Excel register?
Yes. You map your columns, VexCloud AMS flags duplicates and errors, shows a preview, and then imports. We can also import it for you on ENTERPRISE and ONE-OFF.
How much does VexCloud AMS cost?
BUSINESS is KES 25,000 a year and ENTERPRISE is KES 75,000 a year. ONE-OFF starts from KES 250,000, paid once, with hosting included. Prices exclude VAT and there are no monthly subscriptions.
