Egypt's large manufacturers, hospitals, universities and the government offices moving to the New Administrative Capital all hold big asset registers. We print anodized aluminium barcode tags for them in Nairobi, with Arabic and English wording, and fly them to Cairo.
Moving offices is one of the most common reasons to retag: a register that matches physical tags makes it possible to confirm that everything arrived.
Registers, relocations and audits
Public bodies are audited by the Accountability State Authority, and companies by external auditors who check fixed assets against a physical count. During a relocation, such as a ministry moving to the new capital or a factory moving to an industrial zone, a scannable tag on every item lets you check each one out and in. See our guide to fixed asset verification.
Recommended asset tags for Egypt
| Asset | Recommended tag | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Factory machinery | laser marking or riveted aluminium | Survives heat, oil and handling |
| Office assets during a relocation | Aluminium with barcode and QR | Scan out, scan in, nothing lost |
| Hospital and university equipment | QR code tags | Links to maintenance records |
| Portable IT | tamper-proof tags | Shows if a tag has been removed |

Heat, sun and Khamsin dust
Egypt is hot and very sunny, and in spring the Khamsin winds carry sand and dust. Alexandria and Port Said add coastal humidity and salt. Printed labels fade and peel in this climate. Anodized aluminium keeps the print sealed under the surface, so sun and sand do not wear it away. More on why anodized aluminium lasts.

Arabic and English wording
Most Egyptian organisations print Arabic and English together, such as "ملك" (property of) with the organisation name. Arabic is printed right to left, so send the text as a file rather than retyping it, and check it on the proof. Numbers are printed in Western digits for scanners unless you ask otherwise.

Delivery to Egypt
Nairobi and Cairo are linked by direct flights, so air freight is the usual route. Egypt and Kenya are COMESA members, so goods with a certificate of origin may qualify for preferential duty; your clearing agent confirms the details. See how ordering from outside Kenya works.
Send your quantity, logo and number format by WhatsApp or email. You will get a quote and a free digital proof before anything is printed.

Frequently asked questions
Can tags be printed in Arabic?
Yes. Send the text as a file; it is printed right to left, usually with English, and you approve a proof.
Can tags help during an office move?
Yes. Scanning each tag at departure and arrival confirms every item arrived.
How do tags reach Cairo?
By air freight from Nairobi; we confirm cost and timing with the quote.
Will tags survive sun and sand?
Yes. The print sits under the anodized surface, so UV and sand do not wear it away.
