Material selection affects how printed work looks, feels and performs in its intended setting. The best choice depends on the item, handling and lifespan rather than a single universal specification. Share the use case with your supplier and ask for recommendations. See Vexar’s printing and branding services in Kenya.

Paper and print finishes

Paper weight, surface and opacity influence how a brochure, flyer, card or report feels and how images reproduce. Coated surfaces can create a different appearance from uncoated stock and may suit different writing needs. Finishes such as lamination can change appearance and handling; confirm the available options against the design and budget.

Signage and large-format work

Indoor displays and outdoor signs have different exposure and mounting requirements. Explain whether the item will be used temporarily or repeatedly, how it will be fixed, and whether it may face sunlight, wind or moisture. The substrate and finishing should be considered together with the support structure.

Apparel and promotional items

For garments, specify fabric, sizes, colour and where the design will be placed. Embroidery and print each have different visual characteristics and suitability by artwork and material. For merchandise, provide the product use, branding area and quantity so the supplier can propose an appropriate method.

Request samples and proofs

When material feel or colour is important, request a sample or discuss a physical proof. Screen previews cannot fully represent every stock or finish. Review the proof in the intended size and approve the final details. Browse printing products and branding products.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a paper stock from a screen preview?

A screen preview helps review layout, but ask about samples when paper feel, opacity or finish matters to the decision.

What should I tell a supplier about an outdoor banner?

Describe location, exposure, dimensions, duration, fixing method and delivery needs so the substrate and finishing can be considered appropriately.
